Holiday time for the horses

Following a fun-packed summer at Ebony Horse Club it’s time for our horses to have a well-earned rest.

From 21 August to 6 September the horses will be enjoying uninterrupted field time to relax and recharge.

The ponies and our members have been kept busy throughout the holiday with a huge range of events and activities aimed at helping our young people develop their skills and confidence in and out of the saddle - as well as make new friends along the way.

This year has seen a significant increase in the activities provided for our members and for young people in the local community over the holidays.

Highlights include:

  • A 26ft mobile climbing wall outside EHC for two weeks, providing free climbing sessions to members and non members (Over 100 young people climbed 4000 times!)
  • Pony Racing lessons in partnership with the Pony Racing Authority
  • A residential trip to Wylye Pony Club in Somerset
  • A visit from Olympic gold medallist and Landrover Ambassador Ben Maher to officially open Pedro's new door and host a showjumping masterclass

And all of that is on top of the riding and stable management sessions that have also taken place throughout summer.

Thank you to everyone involved, including our members and volunteers - and to all of our supporters whose generous donations enable us to provide activities for young people during the holidays.
